Northwest Forgings - Proof machined shaftNorthwest  Forgings comprehensively equipped machine shop combines vertical and deep-hole boring machines alongside turret and centre lathes.

In-house sawing up to 520 mm diameter is also available.

Vertical boring

Various Webster & Bennet  machines available to machine rings up to 1.3 m diameter x 1.5 m  high

Deep-hole boring

Up to 400 mm id x 3.0 m long  ( larger bores up to nominally 600 mm id are available over shorter lengths)

Turret and Centre Lathes

Swing up to 1.0 m max diameter x 5.0 m max length.

HeatTreatment

Northwest Forgings - Normalising a forged ring at 840 deg cWe supply forgings in any heat-treated condition regularly undertaking normalising, annealing and stress relieving in-house.

Forgings requiring liquid quench and temper are handled by our approved sub-contractors.

In-HouseTesting

Northwest Forgings - Non-destructive testing of forgings(ultrasonic and MPI)In-house testing equipment is available for tensile, izod, charpy (including sub-zero) and hardness testing.

Non-destructive testing includes Ultrasonic, MPI and die penetrant testing to national/international standards or to customers specific requirements.
